A Question from Emily

This was a conversation Emily and I had a few days ago.
Emily: "Mommy, if we ever move to another house, can Noah come with us?"
Me: "Of course he would come with us. Did you think we would have to leave him here?"
Emily: "Yes." (with a sad look on her face)
Awww, she loves her baby brother.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great time last weekend with our friends, Mark and Tammy and their son Jayce. They invited us over to their house for a cookout and swim.

Disney World

I took Emily and Noah to the Magic Kingdom yesterday. We had such a fun time. The park was busy but not near as crowded as the last time we came which was awesome. Several rides had no lines at all.

Emily did the hoola hoop while we waited for the parade to start. She did really good.

This was the expression on Noah's face during the entire Small World ride. I know he looks scared but he loved every minute of it. The Peter Pan ride, too.

Little Carpenter

Emily helped Matt build a new gate for our fence.
She had fun nailing the boards together.

Wind Boarding

On a recent windy day, Griffon used a golf umbrella to
" wind board" down the street.

My baby is growing up

Well, it's official. Emily is registered for kindergarten. Where has the time gone?

A Day at the Beach

We recently spent an afternoon at Cape Canaveral Beach. This was our first trip to the beach this year. I was curious what Noah would do. He was an infant last summer when we went to the beach and all he seemed to want to do was eat sand. Unfortunately, not much has changed. He still wanted to eat the sand! He actually seemed to enjoy the taste of it. He also had fun digging with his shovel and playing in the water. Matt and the kids had fun building a huge sand castle and playing in the waves. We went later in the day after Noah had his nap. This was a really nice time to be there as it was not so hot and crowded. I took Emily and Noah for a walk to look for sea shells. We also saw several cruise ships go in and out.

Happy Mother's Day

We had a fun Mother's Day weekend. Saturday afternoon we went to the beach. The kids had a blast swimming and playing in the sand. Sunday we went to lunch at Boston's Fish House for fried shrimp, one of my favorite foods. After that, Emily and I went shopping. The kids gave me some terrific presents including a pretty angel music box, picture frame, a bird feeder and some flowers for the backyard. Emily had handpainted a ceramic trivet for me at school with her handprint on it. We went to the evening service at church that night. It was a great weekend. I am so blessed to be a mom.

New York City

Matt and I recently went to New York, my favorite city. While we were there, we celebrated out 7th wedding anniversary.

Central Park

Central Park was beautiful...the flowers were amazing.

While Matt was working, I did some sightseeing and shopping. I took tours of Radio City Music Hall and NBC studios. We saw Wicked which was fantastic. I also saw Young Frankenstein by myself the night that Matt had his client event. This was my first time getting around the city by subway. Mostly because I didn't want to spend all my money on taxis. I was surprised by how clean they were. My favorite part of the trip was taking the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. On past trips, the line for this was always way too long. This time I got up early enough to make it onto the first ferry out. Seeing it up close was amazing. You really have no idea just how huge it is, until you are standing beneath it. I was lucky enough to get a Monument pass, which gave me access to the museum underneath the statue where you can see the original torch and the observation level on the top of the pedestal that she stands on.

Below is a picture looking up inside the statue.

I also made a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You could literally spend days there and still not see everything inside.

I spent most of my time there in the European Impressionist wing.

We stayed at the lovely Michelangelo hotel where we also stayed last summer.

Our hotel was only a short walk from Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue which is my favorite part of the city, so we spent a lot of time there.
