This Christmas has been busier than normal for our family with a constant stream of parties, school and church activities, visits to the theme parks along with all the normal Christmas busyness of shopping, wrapping, baking and decorating. Oh, and packing for our 19 hour drive to Illinois. In the midst of the chaos, we have been able to find some quiet moments to reflect on Advent and the birth of our Savior. We have a great childrens Advent book about the different names of Jesus and what they mean. We have had some sweet moments reading from this book with the kids in front of the Christmas tree. After each reading there is a special ornament that is hung on the tree. Emily is at such a great age now to start to understand who Jesus is and what he did for us. Even Noah is starting to learn about Jesus. If you ask him where Jesus is, he runs to our nativity scene and points to the baby in the manger and shouts, "Jesus! Jesus!"

That is awesome. It is so easy to get caught up in all of the busyness of Christmas that we don't always show the proper emotion and respect for what we are actually celebrating. What a great way to show your children what Christmas really is and that we are celebrating the birth of Christ. Merry Christmas to all of you.
